Who we are

Many technology projects start with the build and discover the real question halfway through. We put the question first: what is true about the market, the users and the data, and what does that mean for the product.

That is why research, engineering and AI sit in one company. The people who write the findings work next to the people who turn them into a system.

Obsidra puts research, engineering and AI in one company, and works in that order.

How the work splits

Three functions share every project. Each has a clear area of responsibility.

Research

Frames the question, designs the method, runs desk research, surveys and interviews, and writes the findings.

Owns the evidence and the honesty of the conclusions.

Engineering

Turns findings into a specification and the specification into software, infrastructure and integrations.

Owns architecture, code quality, security and the running system.

AI

Assesses data readiness, builds assistants, pipelines and automations, and maintains the evaluation sets.

Owns model choice, evaluation and behaviour in production.

Principles

Four rules we work by

Evidence before opinion: A recommendation without a source is marked as a judgement, not presented as a finding.
Written down, then built: Every build follows a specification you have read and agreed, so there is something to check the result against.
Yours from the first day: Code, data and reports live in your accounts and repositories, not ours.
Say no early: If a project does not need us, or does not need AI, we say so before any work is signed.
