Market Research & Insights

Market research at Obsidra is the work of turning scattered market signals into a written answer to one business question, with the evidence attached.

Scope

What this is

A research engagement framed by one decision. We agree the question, collect primary and secondary evidence, test it against each other and write down what holds. Where the data is thin, the report says so instead of filling the gap with assumptions.

A decision-ready study answers one business question and shows the evidence behind every finding.

What is included

  • Market sizing with every assumption written out
  • Competitor mapping by offer, pricing model and channel
  • Customer research through structured surveys and interviews
  • GCC market entry studies by country, including local requirements to check
  • Data analytics and dashboards on the data you already hold

Methods

How methods combine

No single method answers a business question. Each study pairs a deep method with a broad one.

Methods are combined so that depth and reach cover each other. No scale is implied.

How to read it

Depth
How much one source explains: why people act, not only what they do.
Reach
How many people or records one method covers.
Combination
A deep method and a broad one, so each covers the gap the other leaves.

Inputs

What we need from you

Research starts once these four are in place.

  • The decision the research must inform, in a sentence or two
  • A named person who can answer our questions during the study
  • Any internal data you can share: sales, customer lists, earlier research
  • Introductions to customers or partners, if interviews are planned

Deliverables

What you get

The deliverables are fixed in the scope document before the work starts.

Process

How we run it

  1. Frame the question

One working session to turn a broad topic into a question the research can answer, and to agree what a useful answer looks like.

  2. Plan the evidence

We list the sources: desk research, your internal data, surveys, interviews. You see the plan and the gaps before fieldwork starts.

  3. Collect and check

Fieldwork and desk research run in parallel. Each finding needs two independent sources or it is marked as indicative.

  4. Synthesise

We write the answer first, then the supporting evidence, then the open questions. Charts appear only where they carry real data.

  5. Read out and hand over

A session with your team to challenge the findings, followed by the final report and all underlying files.

Less material at each stage, more certainty. The dots illustrate the narrowing; they are not counts.

Glossary

Terms on this page

Triangulation
Checking a finding against at least two independent sources before it is reported as a finding.

Evidence collected for this study: surveys, interviews and observation.
Desk research
Evidence that already exists: published reports, statistics, company filings and competitor material.
Indicative finding
A finding with a single source. It is reported, and marked as not yet confirmed.

Questions

Questions about market research

Fit

When this is not for you

  • You need a single market figure for a pitch deck by tomorrow. Published reports will be faster and cheaper.
  • The decision is already made and the research is meant to confirm it. We report what the evidence shows, including when it disagrees.
  • You need continuous tracking over years. That is a panel or subscription product, not a project.
