Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is Obsidra L.L.C-FZ, a company in Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Registered in Meydan Free Zone, Licence No. 2653706.01). Address: Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

We process personal data in line with the UAE PDPL (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and its implementing regulations.

What we collect through the contact form

When you send the contact form, we receive:

• Your name
• Your work email address
• Your company name
• Your role, if you give it
• What you need, how you want to work and your timeline, each chosen from a fixed list
• The text of your message
• The fact that you ticked the consent box

How the form is delivered and where it is kept

The form is not stored in a database on this website. When you press send, our server passes the message to a transactional email service, which delivers it as an email to our mailbox info@obsidraresearch.com. The message is then kept in that mailbox.

The email service and our mailbox provider act as our processors. They handle the message only to deliver and store it for us.

Why we use it and on what basis

We use the form data only to read and answer your message, and, if you decide to work with us, to prepare a proposal and an agreement.

The basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to the privacy address above. Withdrawal does not affect what was done before it.

What else the website processes

The website runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.

Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser under the key obsidra-consent. It is not sent to us. The Cookie Policy describes it.

Like any website, the server that hosts the site receives technical data such as your IP address and the time of the request, so it can deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and any project that follows, and then delete them, unless a law requires us to keep them longer.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising. Apart from the processors described above, we share it only where a law or a court requires us to.

Some processors may handle data outside the United Arab Emirates. Where that happens, we rely on the transfer conditions set out in the data protection law.

Your rights

Under the data protection law you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy
• Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Delete your data, or restrict how we use it
• Stop processing based on your consent
• Send your data to you or to another party in a structured format

How to make a request

Write to privacy@obsidraresearch.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We answer within the period required by applicable law.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle personal data changes, for example if we add analytics, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
